Seaside Inn Beach Resort Anna Maria Island FloridaSept. 21, 2011
“Best place on beach”
Florida

If you want to relax, this is the place. Even though I live in Florida, and only twenty minutes from a famous beach, my daughter and I traveled three hours to get to the Seaside Inn on Ana Maria Island, and it was worth it. This little island is what Florida used to be like before the condos and high-rises, so if you're into glitz, then this is not for you. But if you like charm, the peaceful sound of the ocean at your doorstep, friendly people, a short beach walk to eateries, and quiet strolls on a beach that isn't packed with cars and noise, then this is the place for you. The Inn itself is spotless and very accommodating. We did have one issue with our commode not functioning- even though I called the office two or three times, and the attending manager assured us help was on the way, we spent a good part of the day without the use of our facilities, which could have been very inconvenient (we started thinking of the closest restaurant to go to in case of an emergency). We still hadn't gotten help when the office closed for the night. Luckily, Mark, the manager I had booked the room with, had given me his number in case of an emergency. When I called him he was very apologetic and came right over even though it was his day off. He was an angel and an example of how I wish all managers were. The information notebook found in the room is also very helpful. One night, we weren't very hungry and didn't feel up to going out to eat, so we called an Italian restaurant (found in the notebook) that delivered. We only ordered one meal to share but what we ended up getting was a portion so large that we ended up having leftovers. And it was delicious, so I wish I could remember the name of the place. All in all, our experience at the Seaside Inn was nothing short of wonderful.

“A Truly Special Place”
Anchorage, Alaska

I have been a repeat customer at the SeaSide Inn and can't say enough about its spectacular location. It is a stone's throw from the water, and is situated along magnificent stretches of white sand beach. I have enjoyed seeing the birds, the dolphins, the fishing boats, and even saw a manatee during my last visit. The staff (especially Mark) are friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean, bright and comfortable. The SeaSide holds a special place in my heart in that it is good for my soul.

“Our Favorite Destination Resort”
Leesburg, Florida

Let me begin by saying that for the past 25 years my wife and I have been vacationing in the Caribbean and Hawaii, staying at many fine resorts. In our opinion, none were better or more enjoyable than the SeaSide Inn Beach Resort. Our vacation there was a pleasurable experience from reservations through check out. The management staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions, and even making suggestions for activities and dining. We were surprised to find that the studio rooms were actually nicer - with more creature comforts (stovetop, full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, beach towels, hairdryer, etc.) - than the so-called suites we normally stay in. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of seating. The view of the Gulf from our private patio deck was awesome! With only 10 rooms the SeaSide Inn Beach Resort has an intimate feel that the Marriott’s and Hilton’s can’t match. The housekeeping staff was professional & courteous, and provided as much or as little service as you wanted. Overall, it was a very relaxing and peaceful experience. Our biggest fear is that this “best kept secret” destination will become so popular that we’ll have a problem booking future reservations. Until that happens, the SeaSide Inn Beach Resort will be our permanent vacation location. Room Tip: Book early and if available the Studio's are a great value.

“Home away from Home”
Clermont, Florida

The SeaSide Inn Hotel and Resort is one of Florida's best kept secrets. It's a home away from home. The staff and managment is wonderful. The rooms comfortable and clean. The view breath taking. My husband and I will make this our go to place to get away from everything. There are many activities near by as well. We went parasailing with YOLO. Fantastic. Fishing off Rod and Reel Pier. Everyone there is so relaxed and nice. The resort is small so you get the personal attention. You can walk right out of your room and onto the beach. There is a lovely patio outside each room with nice furniture and tables wonderful for having your meals. There are BBQ grills that are kept nice. We cooked most of our meals. Full size refrigerator and everything you need to make yourself at home. This is a must do for all that want to relax and just be. Room Tip: All the rooms are great if you need more room they have the Penthouse on the second floor with it's own patio.

“Great time!”
Carrollton, Kentucky

We had a great time. My husband and I stayed for 5 nights in Room 9 on the top floor. The room was on the smallest side, but we were very comfortable. This was a last minute trip, next time we would book a Studio room on the first floor. The room had a small refrigerator, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, plates, cups, wineglasses and utensils(including a corkscrew). There was also a starter supply of coffee and paper towels. View was amazing. You looked right down on the gulf and could hear the surf. They had wood loungers with you room number on it. The room had a beach umbrella in it for the beach. Did not use the pool, but it look nice. We did notice on the last day they had metal beach chair over by the pool for use on the beach. We had brought our own because we like to sit in the surf. They provided you with 2 beach towels if you didn't bring your own. I think you could get daily maid service for an extra charge. The inn provided a wicker basket to put towels in if you needed clean ones. You had to set the basket outside your room between 11-12 and they would replace the items you needed and sit the basket back inside your room. There are several places to eat close by. We loved Oma Italian Restaurant. Had a great pizza one night and a awesome veal dish the next time. There is a French place on Bridge Street called the Island Creperie. It was great. Several customers just came in for the dessert crepes instead of a meal. Our meal was wonderful. A very quiet resort, mostly couples or families with young children. We have stayed at their sister resort, The Tortuga, and Seaside Inn had the same atmosphere and quality.

“Wonderful beach vacation!”
Port Saint Lucie, Florida

We went to The Seaside Inn resort expecting a quiet vacation by the sea and it was everything we expected. The Inn provided everything you could need at the beach: lounge chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, umbrellas. We stayed in Apt. 9 and 10 and althought the rooms were small, they were clean and quaint and had refridgerator, toaster, microwave and coffee maker. We woke each morning to our beach view, ate our breakfast and took a beach walk. The sunsets were spectacular as we searched for shells on the beach. The pool was refreshing. What a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of life.

“Highly recommend”
Chattanooga

Tortuga Inn is an amazing place to stay. The location is right across from the beach. Rooms and grounds make you feel like you are in a slice of paradise. They are very accommodating and provide all you need to enjoy the island and beaches. Super friendly. We plan on returning several times a year and will stay there each time. They are the best on the island.

“Tortuga is REALLY AMAZING”
Phoenix

Stayed at the Tortuga Inn for 8 nights in September 2011. Right from the beginning they where very helpful and knowledgeable in answering our questions and helping us choose the right accommodations. Two small kids and two adults stayed in a ground floor 2 bedroom, 1 bath apt with a nice kitchen. It was a tad on the small side but spacious with the fenced in outdoor area. THE only minor issue I would say is that if cooking for multiple people we could have used a few more pots and pans. Otherwise the place was immaculately clean and had a nice beach vibe. There are 2 pools, both very cool and have everything you could need. The main pool is heated perfectly and has plenty of chairs and tables around it. Very nice, social place to relax and/or meet others that are staying there. Beach is right across from Hotel and the included chairs and umbrellas were a very nice touch, The sand is really soft and the waves are perfectly gentle for small children. We always felt very safe and were able to really enjoy the beach, The provided beach toys came in really handy as well. Let me tell you the best part of this wonderful place. The people that work there. They make a point to try to get to know you and provide personal service. They are VERY attentive to small details and take a lot of pride in their place. EVERYTHING was cleaned daily and the management patrols the property and keeps the place in tiptop shape. We left a bag behind and management was sooo wonderful. They went through our room, brought all of the items we left behind to a private shipping store and it was packed and ready to ship within a few hours. This was after many, many phone calls from us in a panic. They were EXTREMELY helpful, understanding and professional!!! We enjoyed our vacation there sooo much and would not hesitate to recommend Tortuga Inn for anyone looking to have a relaxing vacation with a personalized touch! We are serious, this was a WONDERFUL place to spend our vacation.

“Home Away From Home - carol f”
Dover

I've stayed at Tortuga Inn many times and am never disappointed. The rooms are always very clean and have a homey feel to them. I stayed this time in a studio in Palm Court. Love that area with the tropical plants and fountains. Within walking distance to some great restaurants. Beautiful beach with umbrellas and chairs provided. The pool I used had shade so you can lounge and read. Staff is always helpful and polite. They really make you feel like they're happy you're there. I see no reason to stay anywhere else because this has everything I could ask for. Beautiful, clean room, friendly staff, that's a winner to me! Room Tip: Rooms in Palm Court have a privacy patio with table and chairs. I like that feature.

“Great Place To Stay”
Tampa, Florida

Stayed there two weekend nights. Great place for a short "get away". Rooms were very clean, beach is right there and they provide beach umbrellas, towels and chairs. Didn't get nickeled and dimed the whole time. We had a unit with a full kitchen. Pot, Pans and enough dishes to serve six people. Clean, modern and had a "Key West" feel to it. Hard to find a place like this in Florida any more. A great place to stay!

“Tropical bliss on our anniversary”
North Georgia

Our first time on Anna Maria Island and all I can say is MORE PLEASE! Last minute reservations are the usual for us since our anniversary is during hurricane season. Booked a 2 BDRM 1 BATH room in Palm Court North the Monday before our Friday arrival. Our room was next to the pool & office. Plenty of room for us and our Jack Russell dogchild. Loved the tropical plants and water features in the court. Great private patio with table & chairs. The staff and grounds keepers work hard to keep up the excellent standards. Yes there are no flat screens but plenty of channels and TV is not a priority when visiting this oasis. The beach was well maintained with plenty of chairs and umbrellas.Had breakfast viewing the caribbean colored ocean & dolphins every morning at the Gulf Drive Cafe within walking distance. The trolley is great for exploring the island and it picks up in front of the resort. Every night the sunset was spectacular! We had planned to make our drive home in 2 days staying in Gainesville overnight. As we watched the sunset the last night, we both said "MORE PLEASE", The next morning we asked the staff to extend our reservation one more day. Unfortunately, another guest was coming in. They offered us another room at a discount so we enjoyed one more day in tropical bliss :)

“Very Nice and Quiet.”
Hollywood, Florida

Was only here for 1 day because the reservation that was made got mixed up so we got put in the wrong location. Despite that the place was lovely in my eyes. Very peaceful, next to the beach and a very relaxing atmosphere. I am hoping that I can go back here again and I think anyone that books this place will be satisfied if you are looking for a relaxing get away. Room Tip: Book way in advance of your trip. I heard some people book over a year in advance to get the very nice locations on this property.

“Peaceful, wonderful relaxation.”
Bradenton, Florida

This short get away was just what I needed. The rooms were spotless, the amenities were everything needed for a restful, yet fun get away. The Tradewinds Resort is in the midst of all sorts of entertainment. Yet you can be thoroughly comfortable just lounging in the suite or by the pool or on the beach. If you need anything it's just a call away. Room Tip: This location would be wonderful for any type of reunion. You can stay in your own suite but be very nearby to other couples or family and still maintain your privacy. It's just truly a great place to get away or vacation.

“Super Clean, Super Staff, Super Stay”
Bradenton, Florida

What an absolutely beautiful spot the Trade Winds Resort on Anna Maria is. The location is perfect, the staff are helpful, happy, ready to assist with any needs you may have. The rooms are so clean and shiney without the antiseptic smell. The pool is sparkling and just right. It was a wonderful, quiet, restful, relaxing three days of sun and rest. I will recommend the Trade Winds to everyone I know in and out of Florida. What a great place!!! Room Tip: While you may not need the 2 bed/2 bath #23 Unit it is certainly worth the extra money to have the beautiful view of the intercoastal and the upper deck for early morning coffee.

“Lovely resort, good location and service”
Suburban Chicago

Stayed there 2 nights with spouse, brother in law and uncle in law in 2-bedroom suite and father in law in a nearby 1-bedroom. Suites are nicely decorated, well laid out, with comfortable beds and nice furniture. Very nice veranda and view of bay from 2-bedroom. Most units face the parking area, which is really nicely landscaped and feels more like a lane than a lot. Was low-season though, might feel different full of cars. There are nice porches with ivy and the units are grouped in three's, with landscaped space in between. The pool area is spacious and nicely landscaped, on the bay with a pier for good fishing or viewing the bay. The water in the pool was perfect. Access to the gulf beach is just across the road and the beach is awesome - wide, long, beautiful. There are fair restaurants in walking distance and plenty of options within a short drive. The service was friendly, reasonable and helpful. A very comfortable, attractive place to stay.

“Loved it! ”
Bradenton, Florida

Booked the 2 bed 2 bath (both en suite) unit (number 23) for three nights (plus fourth night free) and found the unit huge and spotlessly clean with all the facilities you could need for a short or long term stay. Spent lovely evenings with glass in hand on the enormous, private verandah overlooking the intracoastal waterway. Located right next to the pool, just in case you tired of the beach, the setting was perfect. No hesitation in recommending this location, indeed we are already planning next year's stay. Very good eateries within walking distance if required.

Don't miss this place!
Columbus, Ohio

The best thing I can say about Tradewinds is that it is even better than the beautiful pictures on its website. Perfect location between the bay and the Gulf of Mexico, lovely island with no high rises and chains. Everything you need for a peaceful, romantic, wonderful vacation. Anna Maria Island has 3 towns (Anna Maria, Bradenton Beach, and Holmes Beach). It is a perfect, idyllic setting with pristine water and clean, clean, clean beaches. The villas are small, but do contain a separate bedroom and living area/kitchen. Just perfect.
